ABC already using VA Tech tragedy for gun control

Wow, the 'NO's' have it. Of course, this is only until the minivan patrols clock out and return home from the evening.

Ugh,

Of course, the "NO" response has a ridiculous description along with it to slant the poll in their favor :banghead:

Folks,

WE have to use Real Time Internet and fight back.

What is done is done.
WE do not need to argue amongst ourselves, or get into flame wars with other anti forums. The Antis / Tyranny wants us Distracted, do not play into their game plans.

It is the intent of a user of a tool - not the tool itself

Be it Internet, MSM, knife or firearm - Intent is the key.

Tyranny's Intent is taking our Freedom, including getting our guns, all of them.

Preserving Freedom's Intent is preserving ALL of our Rights, including guns.

I went to the ABCnews.com website itself. The polling appears to be closed, and they only have a link to the results (about 61% said that this was an isolated incident and shouldn't be linked to gun control). Roughly 1,000 responses.

I guess that it was getting quite hot in the kitchen, so ABC just got out. Cowards!!!

The poll is not closed, but if you open the link in the original post (which gives you the result of the poll) and then go to ABC News' homepage to try and vote their website "thinks" you already voted.

If you have done so, clear your cookies, go to ABC News' homepage, and you should be able to vote.

I was able to vote. But not using Firefox only Internet Explorer. So I assume not being able to post a vote is a cookie accepance thing.

As of this post here are the results of the ABC poll;
Do you think this incident is a reason to pass stricter gun control legislation?

No. Violent shootings are isolated incidents and it's irresponsible to link them to gun control. 1,478

Yes. This shows the violence that can occur when someone has access to handguns. 759

I'm not sure. I need more information.70

ABC also has a message board. The replies are within known paradigms:

1. Ban
2. We should be able to defend ourselves.

Some replies are more literate than others.

And they've already got a story up about the horrors of "high capacity ammo clips."

ABC.com page won't display

I'd like to at least take a look at he poll/story, but the second it finishes loading, the page goes blank. I've got cookies enabled, but I get nothing. (I want to read another story they have about the Duke lacrosse case, too.)

Any ideas on what the problem might be. I'm using FireFox, but Internet Explorer also does not work.

I could vote with Seamokey / Mozilla, which uses the Gecko engine (same as Firefox). So your issue is probably a settings-specific thing.

The link in the first post works; that's how I got to vote. If you're on a shared network using a common IP (ex. work, school, home network) and someone from that IP has already voted, then it would take you to the results. There are other explanations also but that one is the most common.

gun control causes crime and deaths!

Gun control laws or the the loss of a citizens right to keep and bare arms is partly the cause of such atrocities as the shooting today. If citizens could carry like in, say, Israel as a example, this would/could not happen nor a 911 type of incident. When a people can protect themselves and some one goes berserk only the first person or two of his outrage will be in danger as the public can protect themselves. IMHO

better than 2/3 correct. pretty good!

Don't forget to copy and paste the url into your browser, in case they pay attention to where you got the link.

SM is right. We need to get ahead of the messaging and make sure that folks understand that this is what happens when you disarm people. Gun free zones get people killed!

No. Violent shootings are isolated incidents and it's irresponsible to link them to gun control.

While this is the pro-gun response, I don't believe this statement is true.

Violent shootings can be linked to gun control - "gun control" creates the defenseless-victims zones which make shootings like today's possible.

As always, even the "right" answer is given as a bad choice. The classic "Do you still beat your wife?" question.

IIRC, didn't VA's legislature recently vote down a proposal to allow CCW on state college campuses?

If so, I think a full-court push should be made to VA's legislature acting to ensure that this happened. More innocent victims of gun control and the nanny state.

Keep posting the results every now & then. There have been instances where the #s suddenly got rearranged to better fit their story/agenda.

We're 2 to 1 ahead at this point. Poll is still open.

ABC news Brian Williams and company have an article about letting the bill that did not allow high capacity magazines lapse. "Lapse" is inferred to be a negative word (like it actually had some effect other than inconvenience the public). To me, no action was the correct action. I knew they were going to make this Bush's fault somehow. Must be a leadership thing.....

urgh...........

Stopped in at my local Mercantile(is it just me or is it only in Wyoming will you find a store with books/knitting supplies and custom made guns??!!)
The guys there-whom I just adore-said just one person with a concealed carry gun could have stopped the whole thing in mere seconds. Can you convice the liberals of that? Nope...us gun fraeks are big, bad and scary. We *MUST* be the bad guys......
Idiots. :cuss:
