http://www.stategunlaws.org/viewstate.php?st=CA

As you can see Ca is one of the worst places for gun owners -I dont understand why We cant talk badly about our enemies????

Much of their info is out of date. For instance, they refer to the fact that the federal ban on so-called "assault weapons" "will sunset" in 2004.

So I would not give them high marks for accuracy, or much of anything else for that matter.

I went to the 2nd link... some of stuff they list is wrong and 1 is against federal law so of corse the state is not going to do it.

so lets just break them down alittle bit...

corrent...

so lets see how they did...22 Qs they got... 13 right...or 54.54%... that would be a grade of F.

Has anyone noticed that their "grades" run inverse to the crime rates in states for the most part? States with F generally have the lowest crime, states with A the highest.

Yeah, be careful about trusting the Brady Bunch. I still have an article in a gun magazine (several years old) where Mas Ayoob rips 'em a new one while explaining that they list a state as honoring another's CCW permit that did not. He didn't give the specifics, hoping that some antigun "elitist" that CCWs would get burned by following Brady's advice. As he put it in the book:

I didn't say then, and I'm not saying now. Let those civil-rights destroying yuppies do their own damn homework!
:D :neener:

"Ballistic Fingerprinting
Must handguns be ballistic fingerprinted prior to sale? No

does anystate do this? I'm not aware of any."

The Peoples Democratic Republic of Maryland.

YES =NY state Requires all pistols to be fried and a casing kept ! Its so bad some gun manufactures wont sell in ny anymore .
Good job guys - You found many errors -I missed -I like to point out as another has there rating system gives Good grades to HI crime states and F- to low crime states.
Have a happy New year

Texas
LOCAL GUN LAWS - PREEMPTION
May cities enact laws stronger than the state's? No

State law generally forbids local city or county governments from enacting any local gun laws, even though the state has failed to pass responsible state-wide laws. This preemption of local government authority makes it impossible for cities to enact sensible gun laws to make their citizens safer.

But Texas cities do have the authority to post signs at public parks and other city property to prevent concealed handguns from being carried.

Out of Date - That oversight was fixed. Local govts no longer can post signs restricting CHL at public parks and other govt property.

I like seeing all the "No"'s on their Texas list. :)

Missouri still is shown as a D+, and as a "member" of the Brady Campaign I beseeched them to give us an "F", after we passed the Castle Doctrine and repealed our "Permit to Acquire" handgun statute last year.

I was "outraged" at the loosening of Missouri law. But, alas, still a D+, and no updates on the law.

I get the Brady e-mail alerts, and news. They are extremely lame, and if it wasn't for the support of the Socialist Mainstream Media, the Brady's would be entirely off the radar.

Ever seen Paul Helmke interviewed? What a tool!!

Dangit my state only got a C-? Hopefully someday we can earn that F!
many of their questions are so dumbed down to be useless.

what is a "kid"?
I think the bradys consider a kid anyone up to 25 years old or so in their "statistics". Much of the war on terror is being fought by kids, apparently

I love how they presume that if you buy more than one firearm in a month, it instantly means you're trafficking them to criminals, etc.

I need to go throw up at the sheer amount of BS I ingested from visiting that site. :barf:
