I took my Aimpoint Comp M2 on an M4 out the other day. It started off low left and when I adjusted it, it went high right. I realized then that I probably didn't know what I was doing with the scope adjustment method. The manual says the elevation is on the right, and the windage on the left. But, the left knob says "UP-L" and the right is "UP-R." So, any advice on the proper method of doing it?

Depends on how you have your turrets twisted, do you have one on the left and one on the top or do you have one on the top and one on the right?

That's why the knobs are marked "Up-L" and "Up-R".

If you set it so that one adjustment dial is on the top and the other adjustment dial is on the right, when viewed as sighting the rifle, the knob on the top will effect elevation while the knob on the right will effect windage.

Okay. That makes sense. The L knob is at 12 and the R is at 3. I'll have to spend some time recentering the dot as I completely screwed it up. Fortunately, my brother has a laser bore sight that should make that a bit easier to do.

no iron sights on the M4?

if ya do, you can get pretty close by adjusting the dot to light the front site tip.
Just keep checking the dot while looking thru the rear ring with a consistant cheek weld
