Hi, I'm new here. I posted this question on a couple of old threads about the Australian International Arms M10-A2, but I was informed by Member Andrew Wyatt, that this was not the way things are done around here; "the proper way to ask for information is not to dig up old threads, but to start your own thread."
So I'll start one here. I hope this is the right place for this type of thing, so I may also try the for sale and wanted category.
I am trying to track down a scope mount for the M10-A2 in 7.62x39 that I purchased a few months ago. I have been hitting 1" groups ay 75 yards through iron sights with Bulgarian surplus ammo from the 70's and 80's, and I feel this rifle has much more potential to reach out with some glass on top. I have exhausted every option I can think of:
1) Marstar in Canada -they don't receive scope mounts by them selves, only packaged with new rifles.
2)AIA - will not return emails, and I even tried an international phone call, but there was no answer, and they did not return the message.
3)Gander Mountain - the original retailer for the AIA imports, and where I purchased mine used. I asked them if they had missed the part when it was sent to my local store, and if the originating store could contact the seller on my behalf to see if they still had the mount, but they did not have a contact number.
My only options from here are to:
1) Scour the internet for someone who is willing to part with one, as I am doing here.
2) Have a machine shop fabricate one for me, but I think this would be $$$
3) Have a gun smith modify the mount for a No1Mk4 Enfield and drill in the side of the rear bridge.
Please help me.
