I just received a used compm4 sight I purchased from an auction.
It is the first Aimpoint sight I have ever physically seen/touched – none to be had locally.
The sight has either been damaged during shipping (it arrived loose in a crappy usps "post it" bag) or it is not the one pictured on the auction.
Aside from the body/adj. cover/mount dents and scraped anodizing, the severe cant of the front lens really caught my attention.
Is the front lens on Aimpoints usually canted/crooked/uneven to the sight body?
The optic seems clear enough without distortion.
Did notice that as the dot intensity is turned up red light blooms around edges of the lens.
My Eotech 512revf does not do this.
I have never owned a scope that had canted/crooked lenses to scope body.
I have included photo's to help clarify my question.
Please let me know.
Thanks.
