Aimpoint observation

I've been hemming and hawing about getting an Aimpoint Comp M3.
I guess one of the things that kind of turns me off is that I'm gonna
have to shell out an extra $100 for a QRP to mount the darned thing.
I suppose I'm just thinking out loud here, but wouldn't it make sense
for the company to package both the optic and the ring at a reasonable
price point? Any thoughts?

Hey Wesson Smith, will you allow me a quick sidebar that probably doesn't deserve it's own thread? Anyone know the difference in the 9000SC and 9000L? Same price, but one's longer. What would anyone want the longer one? Any advantage? I guessing only advantage is you may need the length for proper mounting? If you know, please PM me. Thanks/sorry.

I've jumped on the LaRue Tactical website, and they do sell packages: optics and the mount, in different configs. They sure seem to make nice stuff, but the prices for the packages don't seem to be too much higher than the MSRP for the optics from what few I have looked at.
