Just a quick question on the dimensional differences between single stack and double stack AK-47 type magazines, if any?

Secondly, can single stack magazines fit into double stack mag wells and are there any problems with doing so?

As for reasoning, note location and intended rifle - AIA M10 7.62x39 b/a.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have the dimensions, but the single stack magazine is significantly narrower than a double stack.

A single stack will lock into a double stack receiver, but the magazine will wobble from side to side so badly, there will probably be feed issues.

If you had a double stack rifle, but are allowed only single stack magazines, you can install some receiver filler blocks.
These would be simply metal blocks epoxied, screwed, or welded into the lower receiver to limit mag wobble.

I have seen AK's sold as sigle stack and double stack. Is this referring to merely the magazine or is there a difference in the rifle. Specifically, if I buy an AK advertised as a single stack, will it accept 30rd double stack mags? I am looking at AK's from www.centerfiresystems.com. Thanks.

there were the WASR 10's that had a single stack... a little bit of dremel work made them work just fine with the double stacks... if I am not mistaken.
