Here is the deal. I just bought a Remington 700 ADL, and then found the thread about the bolts being broken off more easily than they ever should be.
Here are my choices, as I see them...
1.) Keep it and quit being paranoid.
2.) Sell it, and buy a __________ . (Please fill in the blank)
My requirements are that the rifle be in 308, and have a synthetic stock and open sights.

As always, your input will be greatly appreciated.

Keep it and quit being paranoid...or give it to me and buy a Savage or a Winchester :D

I've got several hundred rounds through my 700VS in .308 so far, without any parts falling off, FWIW...

I have had 4 Rem 700s over the last few years. My hunting Remy VS is 10 years old and has seen its fair share of hard knocks out moose hunting.Never had a single problem with any of them.

Keep the rifle and enjoy.

SKBY.

You have a very well built rifle. I prefer Savages but the Remington does seem to be more refined.

I posted on the other thread that I saw a handle be broken off. The idiot was trying to blow up his rifle with way to much pressure. He was blowing primers and having to jerk or tap the bolt back after every shot. It finally locked up hard and he then tried to beat the bolt open with a 2x6 board. It did break off but only after being abused more than any rifle should have to withstand.
