It's amazing how you can buy a gun, and as soon as you get it, another one pops up and the fever stars all over again! I have a few of what you would consider "western" or "cowboy" firearms. I have the New Vacquero(stainless) in 45LC the Beretta Laramie(nickle) in 38spl, and the Henry Lever "Big Boy" in 357/38. I've always been intrigued with the open top revolvers-mainly the Richards-Mason conversions. I know we are talking about the replicas, mainly Cimmaron, and I've owned a few of those in the past as well, but never an open top. Just looking for some feedback on these types of revolvers-what to expect-how to load for them-what to expect to pay etc.

And the only known cure is to go out and get it!

I have only owned Uberti's and this Traditions. Some will say they aren't the best, but they were making what I wanted when I wanted it.

Did a bit of aging on it. It started as a 7 1/2" blue and I ordered it with the smaller 'Navy' grip frame. Spins great and shoots to the sights with the RCBS .44 200gr. sized .428 and 4.5 grains of 231. I have never bothered to chrono it because it shoots well and I really don't need to make it a magnum.

I have over a thousand down the tube and it is still running good. It came with a decent trigger that has gotten smoother with a more than a little playing in front of the mirror.
