I've seen several posts, (unsure if they were here) of owners/shooters of the rifled-muskets, mine being the Parker-Hale 1861 Enfield "musketoon", that drop either cream of wheat or corn-meal on top of their powder charge before seating the ball/bullet to shoot.
Could someone enlighten me as to why? It seems that I read where it helps to seal the charge, and even someone that stated it helps clean the bore. Would appreciate some input/info.
Thanks & Good-Shootin'.
