The owners hand book says to use "only factory manufactured standard ammunition."

Does this mean standard velocity? And, if so, are these rounds recommended for best performance, or because the gun is not designed to deal with the greater recoil of high velocity rounds?

If so, I'm in trouble, as just about all 22lr rounds here are high velocity.

I've been using Winchester Super X.

If it works, you are good.

What that means is, if you experiance jams, or FTE, use 40 grain, hi velocity ammo, ala Mini-Mags.

Thats how it was related to me via the CZ-USA smith.

Mine has eaten everything from Stinger-based CCI, to a wide variety of Aguila, to most of the Remington offerings, and some variopus Winchester.

Never had any issues in any way. I would stick with any ordinary type of .22 standard or high velocity ammunition, in the future I don't plan on putting Stinger-type .22 through it, but it hasn't been hurt by anything I've used in the past.

I use Federal bulk packs of 550 rds in mine and it drives tacks all day long.

It will probably function better with high-velocity loads. This is mostly just a "boilerplate" warning to use only SAAMI-spec (in the US) ammo. Realistically, in .22 rimfire, this is all you are going to get anyway as you can't handload or reload rimfire. You should also not use oddball loads like CB caps, blanks, Aguila Super Colibri (the one with primer only, no powder), etc. as they will not cycle the action.

I once had a Taurus PT-22 with a similar warning/recommendation with it. Tried standard velocity rounds and the gun would barely cycle. Tried high-velocity and it was better but not 100%, still kinda iffy. Moved up to hyper-velocity Velocitors and the gun ran GREAT !! Put a few thousand rounds thru that little gun. If a Taurus PT-22 doesn't come flying apart with them, I wouldn't worry about your Kadet.

I have run both standard velocity and high velocity ammo through mine without problems.

In the HV department I've used Federal, Winchester, Fiocchi and CCI without any issues.
I've ran thousands of HV rounds thru my CZ without many problems. I do have some failure
to eject problems if it gets really dirty and I don't clean it though. :)

Mine eats it all, but now and then burps up a Remington Golden, the really cheap stuff. But so does every other .22 I have.

Thanks again for the reassurance.

The Kadet seems built like a tank to me, and the slide is quite hard to rack manually.

I couldn't believe something as tough would be unable to handle the recoil of high velocity rounds.

Thanks Dom1104 for relating what the CZ gunsmith had to say.

As the Lone Haranguer says, it's probably just a "boilerplate" warning in the manual. And in any case, it says "standard ammunition", not standard velocity ammunition.

If I can get hold of some standard velocity ammo, I'll try it. The only brand that's available on a semi-regular basis is Remington Target.

If not, I'll just keep blasting away with the Winchester Super X and Federal HV.

Thanks again.

I have used any brand of .22 and they worked 100%, so far.
