I,ve read a lot about the feed problems for the old .22 mag pistol by AMT.And so having purchased one recently I bought some Win Super-X ammo, some CCI and some Win Dyna point. I cleaned the rails, barrel, etc. lubed it all and Yes! it feeds badly, jams, does not return to battery, ammo jams while loading. I took it apart and see that where the barrel throat and feed ramp are welded up to each other there is about a 1mm alignment difference. There's a 1mm wall the next round has to push past. Suggestions ? Gunsmith work to smooth the junction of the two or something I can attempt ? Barrels are not too common and I presume there should be a smooth ramp to barrel inlet as with larger caliber guns. Some photos included. Phosco

Do like I did. Don't give up until it works. Took me 15 yrs. but I have two. Lately I have been using Fed. 50 gr. and they seem to help.

They have the audacity to call that a feed ramp? :what:

If I were you, I would color the ramp with a black Magic-Marker and go shoot it with every kind of ammo I could find. Color the ramp each time you change ammo.

Then you will be able to see exactly where each brand of ammo is hitting it, and what, if any, mod might help it handle one of them.

It is also very possible it is more magazine related then feed-ramp related.

Phosco-

Any solution here? I just bought a virtually NIB Automag in the second edition made by High Standard and shot it last night for the first time. The best I did was three shots in a row before jamming. I couldn't believe the feed ramp, and I have never seen jamming like that. It's as if the job of the magazine is to push a round up there somewhere--hey, it might even go in the barrel. Let me know if you have had any luck.

Thanks.
