A 19-year-old man from Cambridge who is barred from carrying ammunition was allegedly hiding some in his rectum when police pulled him over yesterday morning.

Officers pulled over a vehicle in Port Hope and allegedly found crack cocaine and marijuana inside.

Police say the suspect concealed ammunition in his rectum despite being prohibited from possessing any.

He is charged with possession of crack cocaine, numerous breaches of bail conditions and carrying ammunition when prohibited.

A 53-year-old man from Cobourg who was also in the vehicle is charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Police are also searching for a third suspect.

so my question is, is the mysterious "third suspect" the one that helped him hide it?

Not sure how lon this thread will last, but I guess a question I have is this: Why isn't it illegal to hide ammo where the sun don't shine? It can't possibly be good for anyone, and is certainly not per DOT specifications.

I can't help it. I was thinking "Headspace problems?". And, "Would his doctor refer to the set of gauges as Go / NoGo?" :)

Thanks For Posting This!

i needed something to pick me up this evening and reading this made me laugh out loud!! i have to wonder though why was the guy prohibeted from carring ammo....?? you'd think he'd be banned from carring a gun instead!?

gives accidental discharge a whole new meaning. There, done with my immature comments for the day :)

Hope he doesn't have heated seats...never know if one might go off. Any chance someone can find out what caliber or more importantly how they came to discover it??

All cracks aside, why would someone be prohibited from carrying ammunition?

Ill bet...

That with further digging into the investigation, detectives found the gun, a long barrelled 1911.

Detectives are not sure whether the gun was used as protection or used with protection.

As the unlucky detective removed the gun, the defendant was heard to say...."Oh, that's a spicy meatball"

Ok, guys. If he's a felon, possession of ammunition is a 5 year charge, Fed, per round. That's one reason. Another is ammo is a HUGHLY prized commodity inside prison. If he knows he's going inside, maybe he thought he could bargain/barter with who ever is the head member of his race, exchanging ammo for not becoming Bubba's whore. He's obviously an ex-inmate; they routinely use the bunghole to hide many many things. Some you would not believe. Seriously.
I have seen an x-ray of an inmate coming off the street with a North American Arms mini-revolver in the keister. And, that was not all up there. When we find stuff there, we call it "the keister bunny has come to town!"
Oh, and as for finding it? Well, without going into too many specifics, we have tools now that will alert on metal anywhere in the inmate's body, even if it's a pin in your bone. It goes off, he/she gets x-rayed. This guy sounds like a real loser, but at least he's a behind-bars loser. Again.

Hmmm...Ammo up the butt...spiralling cost of ammo...there is a smart az comment some where deep in my brain, but I have not had my second cup of coffee yet...

So that's what it meant...

when my drill sergeant yelled "get the lead out of your a___"

Out of idle, pernicious curiosity, what caliber was the ammo? If it was .22, well, not so bad. If it was .400 Nitro Express then there's a question about orientation that comes to mind.
