I went to a local gunshop to see about selling or trading two of my guns that I don't use much anymore. I have only been to this store about 4-5 times in 3 years because he doesn't carry much of what I am interested in and his attitude is poor.
I walked in and the owner was talking to two young ladies about buying a handgun for home defense. They had a Kel-Tec P-32, Colt Mustang and a Bersa .380 out and were trying how they felt in the hand. He was the only guy working the counter, it is a small gunstore and I think he is the only one that ever works there.
I waited patiently while he chit-chated with the two women about a bunch of BS and told them many lies about guns and shooting. He told them that women can't handle the recoil of anything bigger than a .380 and they have much more sensistive ears so the noise bothers tham more than men. Thats a new one to me.
He also picked up the Kel-Tec P-32 and told them that it was the same caliber as the Bersa .380! I checked to make sure he didn't have a new P3-AT and it was in fact a P-32 and a .380 Bersa.:banghead: I should have said something at this point but I try to mind my own business in gunshops. The women had made it clear several times that they were not going to be buying anything today and they might come back after checking several other stores. I was a customer that was willing to do business right now.
I waited for about 15 mins before he leaned over and asked if I was finding what I needed. I told him that I was interested in trading or selling my two guns. He said, "maybe a trade but if you sell it, I'm gonna rape you". Again, I should have just left but I didn't. I was looking at his handguns for a possible trade but his prices were NUTS! He was asking $650 for a new Glock 19! All his Glocks were over priced and the other guns he had were pretty beaten up and overpriced as well. I wait another 15 mins and just walked out. He kept me waiting for 1/2 hour while he told lies and fed the women a load of BS even though they were not going to buy anything from him.:banghead:
I know for a fact that I will never go in that store again. I really don't know how these guys stay in business. I have never seen anyone buy anything while I was in his shop and the only people that go in there are his buddies that just want to chat. He didn't even want to know what guns I had in my bag! He let me walk out of there without even looking at my guns and making an offer. I could have had a H&K P7 and a SIG 210 that I didn't know the vaule of. He just didn't seem to care either way.
