Another bite at the apple?

Lord, I've had at least half a dozen instances of buying THE same gun back, not just another like it. I've owned the same P228 3 times, a Springfield Loaded 3 times, Ruger Single Six, 10/22, Mossberg 500, and 700BDL in 6mm twice each. All are gone for good now, but I'm still on my 2nd go round with an old Stevens 416.
But I did the same thing with an old beater Ford truck and a Durango. In fact, I owned the Durango on 3 separate occasions.

I've had a bunch of some guns, most of them got sold during a "cash crunch".

At least 4 Beretta 92's, a couple of 92S's, and at least 2 92FS's.
Multiple S&W 28-2's, 4" and 6.5", ranging from "well used" to almost NIB.
Astra A80's, 90's and 100's.
2 Astra A75's. One .40 which I didn't enjoy, and a 9mm that is one of my favorites.
A couple of Ruger Security Sixes. Just didn't love the looks of them, or shooting them.
Tanfoglio/EAA "Witness" guns, in compact and full size. I have like a half dozen of them, along with some Sar CZ clones. Love them. Those don't get sold.

Does it count if they aren't the exact same model, but a similar idea? Because that would be me and .30-06 bolt actions. It usually goes "Hey, neat rifle." Then I shoot it a while and say "Hmmmm... just a bit more recoil than I want to tolerate." Eventually it gets sold off and mostly forgotten about. Then I get an opportunity for another bolt action .30-06 and say "Oh, yeah, that's cool." And the process starts again. Which reminds me, it's about time to go looking for a nice .30-06 bolt action...

.308 Norma
The only one I can think of is my Smith 638 (a j-frame "humpback" .38 Special snubby). I thought I wanted a j-frame DAO .38 Special snubby instead. I was wrong.

Had a perfectly fine, truly sweet looking, nickel plated S&W Model 38. It was my favorite J frame until the day I found something else that I wanted more. Many years go by and I found a new S&W Model 649 that caught my eye. Love this gun as it's a very worthy replacement for my old Model 38, though a trifle heavier due to it's all stainless steel construction.

Eventually I also picked up a Model 638 when I wanted to carry something a bit lighter as it reminded me of the "good old days", when I would slip that Model 38 in my coat pocket on those late night walks.
