Stopped at a pawn shop on my way out of state. Last time I stopped there I picked up a Century L1A1 for a good price. This time he had a Smith Model-42 for $200, $222 OTD. Not a perfect piece by any standards, it needs some cosmetic TLC, but it's now mine, complete with the fake mother-of-pearl pimp-grips. I'll probably send to Birdsong and have it Black-T'ed, then use it as a wet-weather piece.

I've also found some good pawn shop deals. Picked up my nice Stoeger Luger .22 for $150 a few months ago. Found three new factory Lorcin 380 mags for $4 each just today.

The key to good pawn shop deals is to make fair counter offers. I've had pawn shops cut prices in half merely by asking. For some strange reason many people think making an offer is equivalent to making an insult, but it does work in most instances.
