Another weird dream!

This time, no Benadryl.

I think it was prompted by that thread about non-reloadable steel-case .22lr ammo, and also I was thumbing through my Midway catalog last night looking at the different offerings in .22lr.

I dreamt that I went back to visit my highschool. It's been years (I'm about to enter law school - yet I'm old enough to be a practicing attorney already and most of my friends are just that).

In the dream, as I'm there visiting, one of the kids sneaks me a peak at his Christmas present: some sort of .22 rifle. He doesn't know the ammo for it and shows me a small tin of ammo that came with it. It looks like something in between .22 short and .22lr. I've never seen something like it before. Seems like a nice kid, has no desire to hurt anybody.

I realize then though that the kid is about to be in a world of trouble bringing a gun of any kind to school.... and sure enough, the teacher walks over and catches him.

Then the rest of the dream is me trying to get my friends to take on the "guns in school" issue and me researching the guy's case trying to establish that there is a difference between guns in school being there as an instrument of death.... and some kid just showing off his Christmas present with a desire to go to the range with some tin cans. The whole time I feel bad for this kid as he gets put through the system. The (dream) media is trying to portray him as a potential killer.... and all gun owners as the same. When in reality, he just did something really dumb and thoughtless, with no malicious intent.

I'm having some weird gun-related dreams lately. What's up with that? lol

It looks like something in between .22 short and .22lr.

The .22 Long, I don't think they make them any more, though the CCI Viper .22LR is technically a .22 Long, in OAL and Bullet weight.
The long used the same bullet as the .22 Short but a longer case. The .22 LR was a evolution of the Long using a longer and heavier bullet.
Some .22 Long chambered rifles won't accept .22 LR cartridges.

You probably saw a reference to the .22 Long in something you've read recently and forgot it as far as the conscious mind was concerned. You've also probably seen these old cartridges somewhere but had forgoten what they looked like.

The unconscious mind will work of connecting memories without been bidden to do so, and the Dream state will connect available memory Engrams into a plausible scenario that plays out as part of a dream.








Either that or Sigmund Freud was right and the shorter than expected cartridge is a symbol of fear of impotence. If so get some Viagra and the Dreams will go away.

I was talking with an attorney about just this today actually. I had brunch at my place for New Years and we were talking about all of the "feel-good" measures out there that do nothing.

even though I'm pretty sure you say this in jest, I just want to say:

1) I've never touched the stuff
2) I've never done any type of illegal drug
3) I have no desire to do any drug

Just thought since this is THR, that it would be worth it to be clear on that.

I think my dreams lately have been gun related due to me talking about guns more often with people.

The other day talking about them with my cousin prompted a gun-related dream.

Last night either talking about them or reading the Midway USA catalog prompted a gun-related dream.

I wonder if tonight I'll have another one since I was talking about gun law with an attorney-friend.

For people who read your posts it's a helluva coincidence that you have so many dreams, and your username could be causing them. Then again I'm taking oxycodone because of surgery and my dreams are NUTS! No guns ones yet though...
