    This is a little confusing, but if you check the link you'll see the poster is a non-native English speaker directing us to some pics of unusual variants and prototypes of firearms by Simonov, designer of the SKS.

    Interesting how similar the AVS-36 is to the Tokarev SVT

    Was the AKS-91 ever anything more than a prototype? I've never seen one of those before. Was the caliber 7.62x39?

    With the SVS/SVT, as I understand, it was a design that was tossed back and forth between the two designers as they refined it to suit the needs of the Red Army.

    I particularly like the caption of "Self-loading bazooka PTRS-41" 3cm RHA penetration at 300 yards...Ouch!
