Anti-gun brain washing at its worst

...some 5th grade students questioned why they never saw ice cream trucks in areas like Beverly Hills. They recognized that the more affluent neighborhoods could keep the ice cream trucks away because of their political clout.
Yes 5th graders were using the word CLOUT to describe it,anyone believe that? The reason Bev hills doesnt have them is because they have the MONEY to keep icecream in the freezer.

Students wrestled with the problems of buying toy guns and its eventual message of violence. Some students argued that if a person started to play with guns when they were little, then they might start to play with real guns later in life.

Why are they not spending more time wrestling with math, science, history, english etc? Go have fun they are far to young to start worrying about this type of thing.

then they might start to play with real guns later in life.

They say that as if it's a bad thing! Granted "playing with real guns" has a bad connotation, but I'd be hard-pressed to find a better word to describe what I'm doing with my guns on a range trip. :neener:

I see youve met my neighbors....

BTW I dont support banning toy guns outright, but you should have to pass a backround check and no toy assault guns-theres no legitimate purpose.

Mabey they'd have better luck if they protested the gangmembers, drug dealers, and pimps instead of the ice cream man.

The ice cream seller is not some gun rights activist or gun runner, he is simply a businessman. He sells toy guns because little kids buy toy guns.:what: If the parents don't want their kids playing with gun then that it their problem, not the ice cream mans.:banghead:

numerous ice cream trucks would prey on students for their business after school. Droves of students would crowd around after school at these trucks throwing away whatever spare change and dollar bills they had.

first sentence makes me think of icecream trucks hiding in the bushes then with a roar poucing on a kid with claws and teeth.

second part made me think 'why the heck are kids throwing money in the garbage can? I'd rather buy some icecream!'

Some students argued that if a person started to play with guns when they were little, then they might start to play with real guns later in life.

sounds like time for eddie eagle

students were able to make the connections of how these toy guns contributed to the perpetual cycle of violence. Most recently, a former student and employee of our school was shot and killed near the school. His death, coupled with the recent war, heightened student awareness about the problems surrounding violence and safety at our school and in our community

were they killed with toy guns from the icecream truck? If not how do these toys pepetuate the cycle of violence?

yes, the recent war should heighten student wawareness about violence and saftey at our schools, these unarmed centers are great terrorist targets, that would make me worry if I had to go there too!

Students realized that the ice cream trucks were only a small part of the problem. Many students realized that they could easily get toy guns almost anywhere: liquor stores, grocery stores, malls, and other nearby vendors

what? what kind of liqour store sells toys? I don't care if it is a toy gun or a toy truck. That right there might have a lot to do with the problem that the fact that the toy happens to be a gun. Why do kids from this area know so much about the contents of a liquor store?

Tan's class continued to work on a plan to address the toy manufacturers

I like how the kids rally behind boycotting some boring old icecream truck for having some boring old toy gun. How many kids would jump on the boycott Playstation, Nintendo, and all the rest for having too many 'violent video games'?

There used to be an ice cream guy I knew of that sold drugs until he got busted. But thats fine with gun grabbers, as John Kerry wanted everybody to know by having Green Day go campaign for him.

That article... wow. Somebody's been around nutty-brained kids way too long. Or else the kids come out of the class crazier than when they started.

If those kids are the future of California, I think that illegal immigrants ought to be going in the other direction.

Wow

It's stuff like this that makes it embarassing to live in California ....

If anyone at my daughter's school trys to push their opinions on gun control :scrutiny: .... we're going to have a problem.
