Any chance of a High Road get-together, retreat or even a picnic?

I'm a newbie here - one week today but I already feel I belong and if it hasn't been discussed or done before, I would like to propose a get-together. With the world situation as it is and since we are apparently scattered all over the globe, perhaps 2, 3 or more separate meets to get it done - perhaps at one of the training sites of Gunsite, Frontsite, etc. I have seen before what can be done by just a few with the resources such as the membership of The High Road can do and nothing is impossible. At least get it on the table for discussion....

Under the circumstances, this will be a multiple answer poll of Yes, Western U.S., Central U.S., Eastern U.S. or other to be explained in a reply.... :what:

[added] I clicked instead of clacked and didn't get the poll going - my apology and perhaps those in the know can start it for me?

Delaware, by the Ocean

We have lots of good places to meet here and some good places to shoot as well.

Also this is a good place to bring the family as we have hundreds of great shopping malls and we are tax free and have some REAL outlets here to entice the rest of the family. Plus, there is the beach.

Knob Creek sounds good to me. (Especially since I live in the same county!)

Coonan, I like that NW Indiana idea; it'd only be a hop, skip, and a jump away from here in NW Ohio.

Methinks we need to develope this idea!

Another vote for a So Cal get together. hansolo are you familiar with the shadow mountain range in the palm desert area?

I'm game here in Oklahoma. In fact, I'd be willing to drive a good distance to fellowship with you folks.

Yea, when thou dost hear the distant rolling thunder to the south, and smellest burt powder on the wind, drivest thou to Kentucky using the directions that can be found here: http://www.machinegunshoot.com and partake Ye of the gunowners High Mass.

We're most likely going to be at Knob Creek this spring at the machine gun shoot - I don't know if we'll be camping or not. We went last year and it was fun. And muddy!

We met up at a designated spot in the morning, wearing our Molon Labe gear to easily ID ourselves. We'll probably do the same this time.

thank you pax

thank you for the personal invitation; a little close to schedule at this late date and high gas prices, distance for me about 250 miles via motorhome but not out of the question. I'm originally from Seattle so familiar with the Chehalis area - is there RV parking at FAS or.......

you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Knob Creek, 2nd weekend in April.

Camping is the way to go - tends to be wet and muddy, but it's a blast. I have extra tents - e-mail me if you need one. Bring your own bedding. I'll be cooking breakfast on Sunday morning for campers. Probably do scrambled eggs with green peppers, and bacon and sausage on the charcoal grill. Yum. Have a 14x20' tarp tent, so if/when it rains, we've got a place to gather and BS...

If enough people seem interested, I may try to arrange for a small keg of Shiner.

Well I posted a gathering here a while back

look under" NorEaster" It started life as a gathering for a second web site I frequest
(Sixgunner.com) and we have had folks from all over the east coast show up. This time I also desided to invite any hi roaders who also wanted to meet up. Its a weekend of shooting eating andf talking to your fellow gun owners. families(please no kids under 10) are welcome as well as campers. The NorEaster is on april 5 & 6 in bucks CTY PA. Everybody here is welcome to come. Its a great time and we eat a LOT of venision too!
:D
See previous post for a photo of our first event. a great time was had by all.

We've already got a little something going here in central Oklahoma with some TFL members. We are always looking for new friends to join us, so if you live around here, or just happen to be heading this way and want something to do, give me a shout. Stellarpod, send me an email or a PM and we'll get together.

Knob Creek sounds great...

We'll be there and will probably bring a friend. He'll be the one with a big grin and a flamethrower - I think it's the only reason he is coming.
