Any Magnum Research BFR owners out there?

I have a BFR in .475. I like it an awful lot but to me it is hard to compare to the S & W because the BFR is single action while the other is double action. The gun has held up well, is very accurate, and kicks like a mule
. Mine currently has the stock black grips on it but I'm thinking about ordering the wooden grips from Magnum Research. The only real issue I've had with this gun was my own fault. I tried to use some less expensive red dot sights on it and the recoil killed them. I have an ultra-dot on it now and it has functioned well. I've also fondled the S&W 460. It is also a very well made gun in my opinion, but being double action feels totally different. The grips on the 460 were more comfortable. I really don't think you can go wrong either way. (BTW, I told my LGS to hold the 460 for me...)

I've also owned a bfr in 475 linebaugh. They're fantastic guns. In fact, they're probably only second in quality to Freedom Arms handguns. One thing to keep in mind though. Unlike the S&W x-frame guns, the bfr is a serious hunting handgun. This means that things such as recoil aren't really worried about in the design. Things such as keeping the weight down and ruggedness are. I'm not saying that the x-frame can't be used for hunting (as many people do). I'm simply saying that the bfr is very light for the heavy kicking rounds that it fires and is thus more appropriate for hunting.
I was curious how the recoil of a BFR (chambered in 500 S&W) of the S&W 6.5" and 8 3/8" compares to the BFR 7.5" and 10". I'm aware of the porting on the S&W models, but I was wondering if it was just a small difference, or if it's big enough to make one gun enjoyable and the other not enjoyable.

My bfr had a 7.5 inch barrel (I sold it due to money problems). My 500 S&W has a 10 inch barrel and my 460 S&W has an 8 inch barrel. The bfr has noticeably heavier recoil than my 460 magnum. The 500 has worse recoil when firing the hottest loads, but for the most part, the bfr's recoil is almost always worse. The reason is the weight. The x-frame is quite a bit heavier than the bfr frame. I've never fired a bfr in 500 S&W but I imagine it's quite unpleasant with full powered loads. Of course, the bfr chambered in 500 S&W is their larger, stretched frame so it has to be heavier. That probably helps keep the recoil manageable.
