Any other people devoted to the firearms they started on?

Yup.

Stevens single shot .22 rifle, it's still one of my favorite guns.
Between it and the 10/22 I do at least 500 rounds a week.

Ruger Blackhawk .44 mag I run about 100 rounds / week.

Both of 'em lived with ol' Grand-dad 'til he left this world, now they live with me....and my sons.

When I shot my first gun at 14, the ONLY one I remember was a 1911 variant gun. I remembered a big boom and a big recoil. I was kinda intimidated by it, but thats the only handgun I remember firing from that day. The full-auto M16 was fun to shoot that day also :p

My first gun was a 1911 Colt Government, similar to my vague memory of the 1911 I shot when I was 14.

The 1911's are still, and will ALWAYS be my favorite platform to shoot off of.

I trained on a Sig P210, and I've always gravitated back to them. Besides the fact that I'm guaranteed accuracy and reliability straight out of the box, the handling and firing habits I picked up with the Sig (1st round DA, decocking before holstering) just seem natural to me.
Being that the SIG P210 is a single action semiauto without a decocker, I find this comment incomprehensible.
