A buddy & I will be attending a conference in Savannah, Georgia this Spring. I'm wondering if there are any ranges open to the public there.

Oh, Savannah

Grew up there, used to live there until 2005, and go back to visit family several times a year. My recommendation would be the DNR range off Kilkenny Road in Richmond Hill just to the south of Savannah. They may want a Hunter's Safety Cert or something to that effect now. Used to be free, like a lot of things, and I have heard that they may have gone back to being free over the past year.

Good range. Used to be one of those police your own type places.

Take Hwy 17 to Richmond Hill, turn left on GA 144 and take it for like 15-20 miles past Ft. McAllister. Look for a sign that says Kilkenny Road and turn left. Entrance to the range will be a dirt road on the left maybe a mile or two down the road. Good shooting!

Direct answer: www.wheretoshoot.org enter zip code 31401

Indirect answer: skip shooting. Take a trolley tour and spend some time at Forsyth Park. Enjoy the bars on River and Bay Streets and enjoy the great food all over town. Its a very cool small city with some incredible history.

Thanks for the replies.

sig: had no idea that "wheretoshoot" even existed-thanks!!

The way our springtime conferences usually run, they're geared for.....golfers . Neither my buddy nor I golf, and we maybe get to see each other once every couple of years.

Half=day classes should allow us to do it all: the Trolley, the park, the bars & restaurants, shooting......heck, I'm even beginning to look forward to now!! :D
