Any Randall Knife owners lurking out there?

Nothing wrong with a safe queen, I have a few myself. Once you get past 3-4 Randalls, then it becomes a real problem to decide which one you will pack. So, after those initial 3-4, then you obtain one that you want but might not use, just "fondle" once in a while. I understand, believe me.

Model 14 that I use and a custom model 16 that is my safe queen. Most likely for sale soon. I just bought a house.

My old Randall

This is my first Randal. Its a #1-7, it was carried in Vietnam by a Marine. His name is factory etched into the blade and sheath. 5319530818_1c822ed1ea_m.jpg

Here's a music video for you Randall knife fans - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY5MOUO464Q . That's an old Texican singer/songwriter named Guy Clark, if anyone here recognizes him. I've heard him do another set of lyrics to the same song, called "Let Him Roll."

There's a couple of Randalls here. One is a still-new-in-the-box replacement for my #1, from when the blade cracked a few years ago. I'd ordered a pair of them when my best friend graduated from the SF Q Course back in the early 1980s- one for him and one for me. I sent it back and Randall sent me a replacement for it.

The other is a stag- handled #25 I bought over the counter from a dealer in Fayetteville, NC who kept some in stock way back when (Cumberland Knife & Gun, for anyone who knew Bragg Blvd back then). I hadn't intended to take that one home, but I couldn't resist looking- and when that stag handle hit the palm of my right hand it felt like it had been molded there. I just couldn't give it back.

I have a Randall #1 fighting knife. I inherited it. Unfortunately it was left out in a shed. The leather rings around the handle are rotted. Any idea what it might cost to rehandle it? I also have two Ruana knives.

You might want to check the post directly above yours...lol...

Messenger Guard. The Randall website says they do repair on their knives. You will need to contact them as to your particular issue with you handle. It says on their website that they do not do re-handle jobs but since you are just worried about a few leather washers they may be able to accommodate you. Give it a shot.

Yep- just noticed that. Seems the spacing using the page down button got me the first time through and cut off the top part of your post.

Oh well. Great minds, and all that .

I use a model 14 "attack", great knife, been everywhere with me. Keeps an edge. Some marks from salt water etc on it, but it has been a great working blade for me.

Clyde e. Fischer knives

Clyde fischer & bo randall were both charter members of the "international knife makers guild" & were respectful & appreciative of each others work. I do not own a "randall" but i do have two of clyde's famous "y-o hunters" locked securely in my gun safe. He & i were close friends from 1977 to 2001 when he passed away.

Go to your fav search engine & type in "clyde fischer knives" & check out those few that folks are offering to sell. Btw: Mine are not for sale & will never be available for sale !!!

Rest in peace my dear friend.

Here's my latest pick; a Combat Companion, stainless steel blade, single nickel silver hilt, stag handle, all black spacers, thumb notches. I think it will be a really nice user.
