I've been having a blast shooting my 204 Ruger at ground squirrels, and now it's time to start reloading. I've got some 32 grain v-max bullets and I was planning on trying CFE 223 powder. Anybody have any experience with this bullet powder combo?

Crickets? Really? LOL.

I'll do an initial load up based on Hodgdon Data.

COAL:2.250"
Hornady 1x brass
CCI Small Rifle Primers

29.4

Will post results

I use CFE223 in the 204 Ruger with the Hornady 40 grain VMAX. Load is near Hodgdon's maximum level so work up the load for your rifle. It also works well with Sierra's 39 grain Blitzking.

I shoot it in a long barrel AR-15 and a bolt rifle. Since near maximum level, case life in the AR-15 is short.

With 32 grain bullets, I have a good load with another powder so I have not spent the time developing a load with CFE223.
