Anyone had work done by Cylnider and Slide?

I recently ordered about $400 in work for my S&W 686 from them, and wanted to see if anyone else around has had work done by them. Pictures are a plus, if anyone has themavailable.

I am making this my "tricked out" revolver, and have pulled out all the stops: backstrap stipling, barrel crowning at 11 degrees, radiused and polished trigger face, chamfered cylinder mouths, etc. In fact, I may not be done with the list of work depending on how I feel when the time comes to send the gun in (6-8 month backlog right now :what: ) The deposit is in, now I just have to wait for the call to send it in. The good news is that I won't have to pay for shipping (they are located only about 45 minutes north of me in Fremont, Nebraska.)
 
Thanks for the reassurance. I heard from an old man who works at Scheels that they produce some fantastic stuff, but I figured the forum would be a better way to get a wide opinion poll.

Fast and cheap: neither matters to me, either. Hell, I already am into them for a large chunk of coin, and the scary thing is, the more I look at their services, the more I seem to want. :D

I won a chit for some custom work by them playing trivia at the old Second Chance Bowling Pin Shoot.
It took a while to get in the rotation. When I did, I sent them my Smith 1917 .45 ACP revolver. They checked it over and parkerized it.
It came back looking a lot better than it left.

I also had them smooth the trigger on my six-inch M57, and do a little work on a BHP, and throat a .45, at the match. They used to bring a gunsmith's trailer there. I would turn my guns in and get them back in a couple of days. I liked that a lot!

My friendly local gunsmith butchered my oldest High Standard. I think he ground the @#$%^&! off the hammer. I've been able to find some original Connecticut High Standard parts, but can't find anyone local to install and fit them—except the butcher, of course.

My newest High Standard, which is actually older than the one I've owned longest, is a recent acquisition. It needs all new springs and a bit of tweaking here and there.

Sad to say, I'm in the process of giving up on High Standards. I dearly love these grand old .22s, but they're just too fragile to compete with any more. I'm afraid I'm going to have to bite the proverbial "bullet" and spring for a European gun.
 
Yeah - it hurts to give up an old faithful piece like that. Then again, it's a chance for you to explore the world outside of the High Standard. You never know what might have changed since you last looked elsewhere!
 
I had C & S do their basic tuneup on my Browning highpower about 20 years ago. it took a couple of months but it was over the holidays. it wasn't the most reliable gun before but after it hasn't messed up once. I would send another gun to them. I have been thinking of sending the highpower back and have a Bomar sight installed and they would be the one to do it
 
I had a few things done to a Colt 1991A1 some years back and I was very happy with it. Also, Bill, the owner is one heck of a guy. If I ever had any work done again to any of my guns, I would take them to C&S.
