I just picked one up a used at a local gun shop. I always wanted a SPAS-12 but that will probably never happen. I like this one, its lightweight and feels well made. I found out that it only takes 2 3/4 shells. Not a deal breaker, but I havent fired it yet and was wondering if anyone else has one? I paid $450 for it. Seemed like a nice price.

I've owned two SPAS 12s. My buddy owned the LAW. The Law is a more tactically sound weapon. The manual of arms to get a SPAS to operate is ridiculous. You got the better gun at a fair price. The SPAS is more a novelty to show off at BBQs with.

I had the pump-only version, the SAS12:

Had one for a while to use as a pumpkin-blasting range toy. Very reliable as long as you make sure the buffer is in good repair (it's easy to replace). The shape of the stock puts your cheek up too high to make good use of the bead sight. Also, the shotgun's light weight makes you aware of every dram of powder being touched off. It was fun, but it went down the road in favor of the 870.

very cool gun! let us know how it works out 450 aint bad for an auto if its dependable.
+1 on checking on the recoil buffer could break your reciever if its not in. i know a website that has alsorts of spas parts the buffers are the same i think i'll see if i can find the www. address.
