I bought an SKS back in 2005 for $150, a Yugo 59/66. I also built up a stash of a couple thousand 7.62x39 rounds when it was cheap. I really like the SKS, although its heavy, its a lot of fun to just blast away at the range. Mine will typically group 4-5" at 100 yards, minute of bad guy, which is what it was designed for.

I have a norinco that was ginen to me by a guy at work that never shot it. I restocked it with a tapco t6 and its a hell of a nice shooter. You can look up my other post for "freebie noinco". Its a good little gun, and the price was right. I've got 150.00 into it total besides ammo

I bought 3 Russian built SKS's and a Norinco "Paratrooper" SKS. Gave one Russian with a laminated stock to my Son and eventually sold the other two Russians. Kept the Norinco as it was the most accurate of the ones and the shorter length simply made it easier to handle. They were in the 80 to 90 dollar price range when I bought them.
