My wife and I are former active duty Air Force, myself honorable/medical and my wife honorable. Anyways, she at MEPS right now going back into the reserves. She's never been good/comfortable handling guns so I told her I get her(by her I mean me:D) an AR15 to teach her and get her comfortable with it.

What would is the going price for an A2 configuration AR15? No frills classic style.

Like I said, She's going back into the Air Force so her actually using a rifle is VERY slim and the M4's currently in AF inventory are going to front line (PJ's, Combat Controllers, Forward Observers, SP's and CE) so she'll deploy with an A2 varient.

Thanks.

$700 +/- after tax or shipping/FFL fee for a complete rifle unless you really take your time to find the deals. If you build your own with a Del Ton kit you will still have to find a stripped lower, and depending on your area, that can be difficult, so you will be back to shipping and an FFL fee, but not including that, you could get the upper shipped for about $500 and the lower would be about $100-130 + shipping/FFL/tax etc. So about $650 to build your own.

I await someone to chime in with the $100 lower with a super cheap shipping charge and $5 transfer from their friend, and the $400 shipped complete kit. Please tell me where, the OP and I both would like one. :p

Here is an kit from Del-ton for $465.
Here is a DPMS stripped lower for $120.
$585.
Edit to add my local pawnshop charges $10 for the transfer. So, make that $595.

:D

+ $10 for A2 upper
+ $21.xx ground shipping on the kit
+ $8 shipping on the lower

= $39 not mentioned

So $634...with that $10 transfer That is still a great price for an AR15, I won't lie, even if it was a more standard $25 transfer...which would put it at $649.
