AR15 vs. 1911

I want a colt 1911 series 70 and a bcm 20" ar-15, but I really don't care which one comes first. But I found a RRA ar-15 with two stage trigger for $850 and offered the guy $700 for it. He hasn't got back to me yet and I'm wondering if this is a good enough deal I should just settle for this ar-15 instead of the bcm and not get the colt yet.

If you choose ar-15 on the poll what price do you think I should take it for? This is a duplicate thread btw.

If its in good condition I'd go with the AR. Its not a fantastic deal, but it is a good deal, if it is in good condition.

You could get a new Stag AR for that price, I think a better gun. Get the 1911 first.

Get the ar. for three reasons.


1. ar prices are low right now

2. ar 30 rnd mags more likely to be banned that 7 rnd 1911 mags

3. the ar is more fun

Get the AR. Thats not a bad price if the condition is decent. The trigger if its RRA's is $120 all on its own and it is a great trigger. I have never had an issue with any of the RRA AR's that I have owned or shot.

$700 is a gread deal for a RRA, if it's in great shape. those things are hand fit, great finish too.

if you want a 1911, get a springfield armory :
