Probably right. But I think it will take some time before a 'panic' has the same effect of financially skyrocketing and eradicating availability of those firearms that was affected last time. Some more time will be required for the gun buying population to fully 'digest' what they bought when prices were so high, and the huge volume of buying now that prices are so low.
I do suspect though that you'd see an even more extreme buying panic for ammunition as there are now more owners and more firearms to fuel.
These are just guesses though. I'm no economist nor am I particularly expert on the details of the firearms business.
