Sign me on for a S&W 1076, G20 w/KKM barrel, G29 w/Barsto barrel (thanks Steve). Have to pick up a Contender barrel. Wouldn't mind a Ruger Bisley or maybe a bird's head 4" - bead blasted stainless would be nice.
I am not a 10mm nut, it just happened to be inexpensive and available at the time. Unfortunately I forgot to research the cost of ammo, as it is so expensive that I cant afford to shoot it on my budget, save for about 50rds a month (if I really saved for it).
I don't have a 10mm, YET! I want the DW Razorback and Glocks 20 & 29 both with several barrels in different calibers and legenths. I have never held or fired a 10mm, but I do consiter myself a fan.
I do believe that the cost of the first 10mm should include the cost of a progressive setup. (for me)
Hmm.. so much variety here. I feel pretty average as all my 10mms are 1911s.
Just added a Para 16/40 with a 10mm Ed Brown barrel. 16+ round of 10mm AND in a 1911 platform. Now I don't worry much about capacity in guns, but it sure is fun sending all 16 down range without having to reload.
That Javelina sounds interesting. I have been craving something Commander length, though. I have this urge to turn my gunsmith loose on a Caspian frame w/light rail, Commander length slide/barrel, all sorts of other goodies, and some grips from Hakan. Stay tuned...
Been packing a 10mm of one kind or another for 20 years.
Got a Delta when they first came out.
Had a Wyoming Arms in my saddle bags and another in my tool box. $300.00 apiece, so what the heck.
They were ugly but they never failed to fire..Finally sold them to a collector.
Carry a Razorback at all times
Waiting for the DW CCO configuration to come out in the next few months.
I'm not really a 10mm nut, but I do have a 1026 (5" version of the FBI gun) which my son gave me many years ago. It's smaller than a Beretta 92, not much larger than a 1911, and doesn't recoil much with full-power ammo. What's not to like?
Go to your local gun & ammo emporium and try some Winchester Silvertip Hollow Points (175 grain.) This should give you a fair idea of how the pistol will perform with "middle of the road" full-power loads. These should give you a reasonably close POI for most other moderate 10mm loadings. Then go get the Double Tap ammunition, and have fun!
10mm S&W autos are some of the best they ever made.
I have a 1066 I purchased as substitute standard for the Witness I couldn't find before the PRK Drop Test Extortion law went in to effect.
It has since become THE standard. Turns out I'm one of those lucky folks who finds S&W ergonomics likeable. I got it as a used police trade-in, and it shows little/no interior wear, even after the 1000-odd rounds I've personally run through it. Truly a magnificent specimen of the gunbuilders art.
Now I want a 1006, and I still want a Witness, but I'll have to be lucky and find someone in-state who will part with 'em. Stupid state.
In the meantime, I discovered that Glock 29's are the same size as my G-32, and that gun I CAN buy! Saving pennies until the day.
10mm. What a PROPER autopistol round should be, the same way the .357 mag is a proper revolver round.
