Armscorp M14 Receiver not Accepting Mags?

I have an M14 Armscorp rifle, it accepts mags, loaded and unloaded, just fine. I was checking out and examining a new Armscorp M14. The mag with it (BRW) inserted just fine. However, the CMI and BRW mags I had with me, which load fine into my Armscorp M14, would NOT lock into this rifle.... I had one loaded mag that would lock in when the bolt was back. However, all my other mags would not lock into the receiver....it didn't matter if the bolt was forward or back. My question is, what could be causing this and how could this be corrected?

Another note of interest. The trigger group in this rifles receiver was so tight, that it took two of us pulling at it to get the thing out. Insertion of the trigger group was also painfully difficult. The guy said that all of Armscorp's recent receivers have been "tight". Could this be the problem with the mag insertion?

Either way I am anxious to figure out how to fix this problem, as an M14 without a mag is only a single shot! What can I do to make this rifle more mag friendly?

why, just use the one and then load via stipper clips silly. :)

seriously.. do you mean they're inserting, but not locking in place? If so, my bet would be the trigger group isn't allowed to sit all the way in place, so the lock-paddle-catchy-thing's in a wonky position.

Forget clips...this is a SHTF/Combat gun!

Yes, it is inserting but not locking into place. You think it is the trigger group? I can try to switch out trigger groups and see if that makes a difference. It might be that the trigger group is not seated all the way in.... it does fit kind of funky....

Yep, I switched trigger groups and that seemed to be the problem. The other one doesn't seem to be pushing in all the way or something...., part of it's locking bar is dissfigured.....now if I can only find a way to MAKE that group work.

hrmmm.. well if the other trigger group works.. coolness. At least you know it's the cheaper part that's out of whack.

(gee, what a day to leave the 14 at the shop... no reference to look at *grump*)

Hrmm.. my initial bet would he that stoning the vertical rail things a tad narrower would fix the problem. Hard to say without seeing it though. Have you tried getting a match or dye or som'n to see if there's any spot on your trigger group (or in your receiver) that's too high and preventing full engagement/even contact?
