Attention Minnesota bills to be aware of

Does anyone know when they are going to vote on this? I read the bill and it reads much like the one passed in NY. Not good.

They are having hearings on new laws next week. No announcement on when they will be voting. GOCRA-MN is the best resource we have in this issue. Here is the latest e-mail they sent out.

We need you to come to the capitol at least one of three days next week. It's important.

Today, members of the Minnesota House introduced a stunning array of bills to strip you of your firearm rights, your due process rights and other freedoms. We'll be detailing these bills on our web site and on Facebook in the next day.

Next week, the Minnesota House will hold three days of hearings on these bills. All the politicians, the legislators, the governor and the media will be watching.

Gun owners need to be at the hearings in overwhelming numbers.

(Yes, this will involve taking time off of work for many, and we wouldn't ask if it were not so important. It is that important.)

Can you attend one or more of the hearings?

The hearings are at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; you'll need to be there by 8:30. Gun rights activists will meet in room 400S of the State Office Building.

We'll have buttons and t-shirts to help identify you as one of the good guys and gals (please bring $1 for buttons or $10 for t-shirts to offset our costs).

There are also two evening hearings, on Tuesday and Thursday, starting at 6 p.m. Plan to be there by 4:30 p.m. to get a seat.

If you can come to one or more of the five hearings, please let us know by sending an email to [email protected]. If you are flexible about which day or days, tell us that, too, so we can be sure to fill the seats for all five sessions.

If you, or someone you know, can testify against gun control, please tell us that, too, and we can help get you to the right people to get on the list.

Whether you can come or not, please call your senator and representative, urge them to reject any gun control measures. Then, call each member of the committee and tell them the same thing:

What about that rally?
Yes, there's a rally loosely organized for Friday.

We already demonstrated, on January 19, that we can turn out, literally, 100 times as many supporters as the gun banners. As fun as it is to gather and protest, now it's time to get down to work. We exert real power when we get in front of legislators -- attending the hearings, and then seeing your senator and representative afterwards, in person.

The Bad Bills
We'll have some analysis soon, but you don't need to be a lawyer to see the problems for the law-abiding gun owner.

Thanks GI Jared. I appreciate the information. I'm originally from Minnesota and was going to retire there after I have finished with the military (which is very soon). It would be a shame if they tried to make folks felons overnight...well, pretty much overnight. How much of a chance do folks think it has of passing? I know that the DFL is very influential so I can't help but seeing these hearings as a charade of due process. Anyhow, that is just my cynical take on it and hopefully that is false.
