I have been aware of the Camdex machines and Ammo-Load machines for some time. Does anyone know of any other high production, automated reloading machines? I know C&H used to make one, called the "man-o-matic", but haven't made this machine for years. I have contacted camdex and ammoload for price quotes on machines, but before i make a decision i figured i'd run it by the people on the forum, and see if there are any other companies manufacturing such equipment that i am not aware of.

Thanks,
Tommy

The camdex and ammo load machines run around $25,000 new. I have seen used ones go for as little as $4500 (my guess is well used) but the $7-11K mark is pretty normal. If you do buy used make sure it is already in the caliber you are looking to load unless you want to spend a lot more money converting it.

I don't know what a Ruger 1050 is but I have a bullet fed, auto drive Dillon 1050, it's not equal to the above machines in production or price.

So if I want to upgrade from the Lee $30 Loader (whack it with a mallet) sounds like the Camdex is THE way to go. All you Dillon fans listening? LOL

Heh heh :)

Yep, I figger I probably have a total of 600 pieces of .45 Colt brass altogether. If I was able to get them all empty at the same time and feed them into that machine, it would take maybe 10 minutes to load them all up? I don't know about that. It would leave me too much time to get into trouble.

It's why I always try to post that there is NO "best" reloader out there. There are a LOT of great tools for different jobs and if you match your realistic shooting needs and budget to a machine that fits YOUR requirements, you will be well served.

I shoot maybe once a month if I'm lucky and then perhaps 100-150 rounds per centerfire caliber. Would a Dillon 650 make me some great ammo? Sure! But I'd be some kind of money-wasting dummmasss to think it was my "best" choice.

I think i will take one more step before going that far. Especially since i just bought a new truck less than a month ago. I'll order a dillon 1050 and do the ponsness warren automated mod. with a bulletfeeder.. and i guess in the mean time order a dillon primer tube filler since my quickies are on their last leg, and i don't have the dies to make them anymore...

Honestly if i could get a hold of a broken camdex for a reasonable amount of money i could live with that. As with you above, i'd prefer the camdex for the automated primer tube filler.

I own title 2 firearms and i have a range less than 25 foot from my backdoor.

I try to shoot daily.

I can run my bullet fed 1050 faster than my autodrive can (100 rounds in 2.5 minutes) but it still saves time as I can case gauge while loading.
