I recently acquired a B&C A5 - per the factory, the front rail is a #6 - 3/8" - it came with a single stud mounted in the rail which is fine for a sling, but ...
I tried mounting a bipod but the curvature on the bipod's upper plate digs into the very wide foreend before it's snugged down. So, what I need is some sort of adaptor with a stud that mounts in the #6 rail (Anschutz I believe) and provides enough stand-off to get the bipod secured without chewing the stock. I've scanned both of the Champions sites, Sinclair, etc. and can't seem to locate what I'd need altho I've seen 'net pics that appeared to have a working combo.
Right now I have the Harris #6 stud in the rail ... http://www.harrisbipods.com/HB6.html
What I need is something similar but with shoulders on each side that would contact the bipod's upper plate ... alternatives seem to be strips of leather to minimize digging into the stock or a bipod with a dead flat top plate.
Any suggestions as to a workable setup would be appreciated.
