Ballistic PDA software

Is there any free ballistic software anyone knows about which could be used on a PDA?

I know Horus vision offers software for PDAs, but at $100-300, it's not very likely I'll buy it considering it is essentially what is for free here: http://www.eskimo.com/~jbm/calculations/traj/traj.html

The only problem is, that website runs from a server where the formulas are stored, so it requires an internet connection.

Cant help you with you question, and I have looked at Horus and had the same thought.

Just wondering what type of PDA you are looking at using? Since the advent of smartphones, PDA's have not been as popular as they once were, and I am a little out of date on what is the best offering out there at the moment.

I mentioned to a friend that I wanted to use a PDA for ballistic software today, and he gave me a new Dell Axim X5 he had never used. He said that they are only going for about $40 on Ebay nowadays, and sure enough, I even saw a few cheaper than that. So you can get a fairly decent PDA for pretty darn cheap to run such programs. This has a full color screen with WM2003 OS.

Anything available for Linux? If not will a program like exbal written for windows work with WinForLin? I'm thinking about doing something like this for a makeshift ruggedized Eee PC.

I figure at least one ultra geek might have the answer?

I have a Palm Treo 700p and have used both Ballistics! by Mike Finch and pSSF (pocket SharShooters Friend) by Anton Proprock.

The pSSF site is in Russian, but the software I have is in english (I can't find a language option, so maybe there are two versions, or it looks at the PDA prefs.)

I don't know if there are pocketPC versions of these or not.

Freelance Tax Collecter, you should check out saballistics. 1.3.3 is the latest tar I have been able to find. The author has not responded to my most recent requests for help compiling under Mac OS 10.5. It worked great under 10.4 and under Ubuntu linux. I haven't had time to dig into the 10.5 issue yet, although it appears to be an unaligned access issue.

The software is free, and written in C and has relatively standard includes. It should compile fine under most OS.
