Barrel question, need help

I'm going to borrow a Western Field 12 gauge pump for deer season. The gun is from the Mid-60s with a bird barrel, and a slug barrel(smoothbore). From what I can tell the gun was a Montgomery Ward brand so I think its a mossberg, tang safety and all. My question is can I put a modern Mossberg 500 rifled barrel on it? Im not a big fan of rifled slugs
