just came back from shooting my 45/70. 40 rounds, full hunting 400 grain flat nosed loads, my shoulder is bruised already, cant wait to see it in a couple of days. i think i am going to have to work up a good reduced load for this. these are just to much for plinking!

Didnt they use black powder 100 yrs ago in the 45.70, I dont think they kicked that hard back then.
