Picked up a one of these a few months back in 270 WSM and watched my son take his first deer with it in January. Good Days, good day's! To me this has got to be one of the finest and smoothest working rifles I have ever owned. It is gas operated and contains a gas cylinder much like a famous predecessor.... the M1 Garand. Just has 70+ years of technology built into it.

The question is... why isn't there much talk of these rifle's? The are extremely accurate, kick like a 410, and above all.. easy to maintain due to it being a takedown. Not going to say bolt action accuracy, but will definitely out shoot any of My Browning or Remington automatics. They are a bit more $$ than the Short or Longtrac's, but worth it in my book.

Anyone have one of these?? What's your opinion? I have never seen one at a gunshow or for sale in the classified's! Just rare in my neck of the woods!!

My dad shoots one in 30-06. Good rifle with acceptable accuracy. A good bolt gun will indeed out shoot it, but the reduced recoil is the selling point for my father.

I agree about the OP's comment on the R1 or about Benelli overall. Benelli makes quality and excellent longguns. My wife bought me a Benelli Nova tacital pump in 12 gauge last month. The shotgun, though lighter than my Rem. 870 shoots smoother and softer than the 870. It actually made the 870 look and feel bad. I am even thinking of getting the benelli M1.
