I am going to be purchasing a Benelli Supernova tactical soon, but I can't seem to settle on ghost ring sights (Model: 20160) or open rifle sights (Model: 20150). I am just seeking advice and input on the situation.

Benelli SuperNova Tactical is for TACTICAL purpose and GHOST RING are design for TACTICAL so get USED to it because 18" barrel not 22" or 26" for duck hunting but urban hunting.
I have one and YES the GHOST ring does take time getting used to, but TACTICAL with 00 or 000 is quick reflex with the ring to point and pull, not aim and pull. The ring is VERY accurate at 50 yards which I was shooting 1" grouping with Winchester SUPER X 2-3/4 slugs.
Right now I'm going with the Mesa Tactical 6 shell holder top rail, 4 shell butt holder and 3 point sling.
FYI after shooting with Ghost ring the farther you keep your eye back further away from the ring you'll have a more defined dots lined up.

Ghost rings. We just got some in and I like them much better than the open rifle sights.
I guess I'm the minority here, but my Nova's got rifle sights. I prefer them to ghost rings and I don't see how ghost rings would make you any faster. In fact with an AR15 I was trying to fire quickly the other day, I kept losing that front sight post. No such problem with regular rifle sights for me.

Which type of sight can you center faster? Pick a target on the wall and do a quick point with each style sight.

Thanks for the input everyone. My concern is mainly the fact that the ghost ring rear sight is extremely close to the eye. I have never had the opportunity to test them out so I am not sure if it is difficult to pick up on the rear sight (to align) when one is aiming (focusing on the front sight).
Don't sweat the small stuff.
Ghost rings are really easy to use, focus on front sight, the ring will blurr in and "frame" it, piece of cake. Just takes giving them a chance to work and not over-complicating things.
For speed of sight pic. acquisition, you can't really beat them. It took me about 20 rounds to get used to the ones on my S-nova tactical, then I hated switching back to normal rifle sights and my old rail/bead sights on my Browning.

Picked up a SuperNova Tactical yesterday. For me, it was a no-brainer decision for having a ghost ring sited. I find it quicker than traditional rifle sights. The only negative so far (after stripping and cleaning it last night) is that I can't get to the range for two weeks.

My (standard) Nova Tac. has rifle sights, which I think are about the best rifle sights I've ever seen on a shotgun. Benelli just has shotgun rifle-sights conpletely nailed.
I chose rifle sights because my original intention was the one gun, two barrels approach, but I ended up buying another Nova. Anyway, I think I would go with the tritium ghost ring if I were to do it all over again.
To be totally honest, though, I feel 0% hanpicappped or short changed with the rifle sights. You really can't go wrong with either.

You don't focus on the rear sight on any gun, least of all with ghost ring or tang aperture sights.
They are supposed to be out of focus.
That's why they are called "ghost-ring" sights. The rear sight is just a "ghost" image.
Your eye will automatically align the exact center of the aperture when you focus on the front sight, because that is the brightest spot in the ring of light.
You don't even want to think about doing it.

Yep, that's why the rear sight is 1) fitted with a relatively large aperture, and 2) close to your eye. You look THROUGH it, not AT it, and your focus is on the top of the front post, which you simply superimpose in the target. It's instinctive, your eye will center up the top of that post in the middle of the aperture without your having to think about it.
