I've received a couple emails from Benelli touting the new "Vinci" to be unveiled on March 31st. Just curious if anyone here is in the know about what the Vinci is.

At the S.H.O.T. Show this year Benelli had the gun case enclosed in a round vertical glass case. It also had lasers completly surrounding the case to make it look like some type of James Bond alarm system. It was in a roped-off 5x5 area complete with 2 men in black suits with radio ear pieces. A little over kill but it did make you wonder what it will be.

It will be interesting to see whose wheel has been reinvented this time. Maybe more of Benellis trademark overhyped and overpriced marketing.

Let me guess: INERTIA DRIVEN-this thing soaks up so much recoil we even had to design a recoil reducing comfortech stock so people could stand to shoot it.

OK, OK, I will give it a chance. I most likely wont buy one though.

Yeah, I've been seeing their current ads floating around.

When the case opens... these guys pop out! Gah!

Pretty cheesy I think... but hopefully the firearm will be awesome.

Looks like the result of a Benelli M2 and a Winchester SXR had sex and thats what came out of it. But I will say, if it functions anything like my M2, it will be a good one..

Well if thats it then what a dissapointment. didnt think it was going to live up to the hype. that thing is damn ugly, makes me feel better about probablly not being able to afford it.

Great googly moogly. Don't need to be seeing that this early in the morning.

Already chuckling to myself considering how filled with glee I'll be when that thing is a flop.

Video and specs are up at Benelliusa.com

MSRP runs from $1379 to $1479 depending on finish.

I didn't see much that made it seem amazing. For me, the ability to change stocks easily is just about worthless. Curious if they really kick less than their other models, but I've never had a problem with Benelli's recoil anyway. Perhaps others will see the value. I'll stick with my M1S90.

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't do all that crazy advertising for this thing. They were just working people up to be let down. I like a few things on it and I don't think it's nearly as fugly as the nova but it wasn't worth the hype. I don't think they are going to make nearly as much money on that as they expected based on the hype. Decent pricing though considering it's Benelli. I just hope they aren't planning on this being a replacement for any of their semi autos.

I'm just not much on the new "Space Age" look. No matter how good it may be I still have to look at it. I'll take an 1100 or 1187 any day. I must admit though after owning a troublesome sbe1 for a few years. I'm prejudiced against benelli.

Im sure Benelli fans will buy it. They seem to have more money than brains anyway.

Now why do you have to bring things down to that level? You know there are going to be some Benelli fans on this thread. A gun is a gun. As long as it shoots reliably then who the hell are you to say that the buyer has no brains? You just make yourself sound like a fool when you criticize someone else's taste.

Not really impressed. Doesn't look that great and in the video it seems to recoil more than an Xtrema2. I also don't get the whole secret weapon intro thing. Just over-hyped and overpriced.

Wait. Is it just me, or does it appear that you can't swap the barrel out on that thing?
Thats my take on it. Looks like the barrel and upper receiver are all one assembly (ala AR15).

But if the upper is the part considered the firearm then there's no point in swapping barrels, just buy more guns.

I do like how high your grip is with it, should make for faster followup shots, but other than that unless it has some crazy new action that reduces 12ga recoil to the same felt recoil as a .22 I'm really unimpressed.

Maybe if they bring out a tactical version

(if only gunsmithing was as easy as Photoshop)

Nice photochop! looks doable.
I agree, it would not have been nearly as bad if Benelli hadn't hyped it up so much. There's alot of dissapointed pissed off Benelli fans out there now.. I'm one of them. But like I said, I couldnt afford that thing anyways and after seeing it, I dont regret that I cant. Swing and a miss... :cuss:
