Hey guys&gals

I have had a 1201 FP for a while now....Which I love BTW ......but I have one question.......why did they (beretta) not allow it to be topped off on the fly(tactical reload)........I hate having to finish off my full complement of ammo before I can load up again.........is there somthing I am missing??????

Not sure I understand the question? The Beretta 1201FP operates identically to the Benelli M121/Super90 interms of loading. It uses the same free carrier and cartridge drop lever system for loading/select shell purposes. If you want to reload the mag tube in between rounds simply thumb shells through the loading port. So long as there is a cartridge in the chamber already, the gun will cycle normally when fired, since pulling the trigger accomplishes the same thing as pushing the cartridge drop lever. If you want to change shells in the chamber, pull the bolt back -ejecting the chambered round, and roll one in. The only way you would be prevented from loading through the loading port, is if there was a cartridge already on the carrier or the bolt is open after the gun runs dry. The first problem should never occur except just prior to cycling a round from the mag tube into an empty chamber/closed bolt situation, at which point trying to load the magazine tube is (and should be) impossible.
