Beretta 93r availability?

I would like to know where in the 'world' would one be able to find Beretta 93r for sale. I have checked Italian market and found nothing. Any ideas?

The ones in the US, how do find the owners and make them offer, and are they exportable out of the US to EU?

It's more likely you would only see the ones that are for sale. (If ever.) If G-18s are going for north of $20k, I would suggest 93Rs are even more rare and exclusive.

Exports not going to happen.

As far as finding owners, that is impossible until one shows off or places it for sale. You cannot check the registry, so to speak. If you knew what the serial numbers were of the 93Rs, it still wouldn't help. If you file a FOIA claim about specific firearms in the registry, they'll redact all relevant information about ownership.

Your best bet is to contact the big dealers, they tend to have lots of connections and might know someone who knows someone... Word of mouth gets around in the NFA community, especially among the MG collectors, probably because it is such a small world. However, that's not going to help you in Italy if that's the market you're in.

Have you contacted Beretta themselves? If you're in Italy and you have the political connections you've alluded to, then that's the obvious place to start.

Beretta Italy stopped making them in the late 80s. I think your best bet would be to check a gun store in a country that allows ownership of full-autos. Switzerland and Czech Republic come to mind. Then, have the gun transferred to wherever you buy your guns in Italy.

In Europe guns don't have to be transferred anywhere - you can buy a gun from a dealer or private individual any EU country and have it shipped directly to your door. All you need is copies of purchase and transfer permits, which (for the most part) are easy to obtain.

93R:s (like Glock 18:s, Micro Uzis etc.) used to be somewhat common in Finland in the 90's, but I haven't seen one for sale in years. Collectors seem to have bought them by now and few are willing to part with theirs. I looked for one for quite a while and finally gave up. They're rare.

When you mentioned the Titanium framed Machinist's Special, did you mean the 93R that was modified into Robocop's sidearm?

A true Beretta 93R is a restricted nfa item. Only LE, Military or an NFA dealer can posses one as they were imported as a select fire pistol. I don't think I have ever run across a transferable 93R and have only known 1 dealer who had a real Beretta 93R.

There are a couple in the NFA registry (I think they number 12, including the Titanium-framed one).

The OP is in Europe though, so he can get a NIB Beretta 93.
