I would like to know your thoughts on the Bersa 9 thunder ultra compact. I like the way it feels in my hand. like to read the good things bad things about this gun.... Thanks

The Bersa Thunder 9 series are very good pistols. I have never had a bad experience with mine.

I've owned several Bersas and all were great pistols. My favorite was my 9UC. I still have a 45UC and would trust my life to it without question. I ended up giving my 9UC to my god son after he graduated from airborne school down in Georgia. My brother liked it enough that he bought my 9HC from me, so I'm down to just one large frame Bersa at the moment.

The trigger reset is better on the Bersa's than it is on any of the other handguns I have. Those include a couple of Kimber's, a Sig Scorpion, Springfield and some CZs. Take a look at http://www.bersachat.com to get a feel for how owners think of them.

Decent gun, hard for some to rack the slide.

Last year in an NRA class, one female student had a brand new 380 Thunder, & she couldn't rack it.
She ended up dropping out. :(

The Thunder 9 UC like other Bersa Thunders shoots sweet and points naturally at the target in my hand. About a month ago I went to buy a one of my own. But the new Bersa BP9 caught my eye... it's sweet, too.

The good and the bad?

Well, the good is that they're awesome. The bad? The finish, on the UC9's slide anyways, is not what I'd consider wonderful.

My UC9 Pro has proven absolutely reliable and is capable of some very tight groups. Of the near 20 autos I have, there are only 2 that I would be shocked if I experienced any form of malfunction. One of those pistols is my Bersa UC9.

I believe they are truly excellent pistols, especially for the price they can usually be found for.

No experience with the 9, but if they are like the 380, I'd love'm. As others have mentioned, they are a very nice natural shooting pistol. Great value IMO. Firestorms are another of the Bersa line, different name, same company.

Thank you every one for answering my post. Really looks my next one will the 9mm. Had a guy at one of the OKC gun shows tell me with a few hundred rounds threw it,the barrel would get worn out. Any way thanks to all...

Great function out of a .380 after 200 rounds to break in. accurate, easy to shoot.

Bersa's finish isn't the best, and they don't advertise much. The fit is good, the price is good, and they have a lifetime First-purchaser warranty. I haven't had to try Bersa's CS yet.

I have the .22 on order to torture (hopefully soon).

i have a thunder 40 pro.my daughter in law just bought a thunder 9 uc,after shooting my 40.
she has no problems racking it. the weapon is so well made, acurate and feels good in the hand.
after seeing hers,im going and getting one saturday :D!

I purchased a .40 UC in December, and it's a great gun so far. It's Loud and it kicks, but has yet to let me down after 500 rounds.

One cool thing is that you can purcahse a 9mm silde and barrel from Bersa and use it on your .40 frame.

My wife has the Thunder 40 UC and it has been shot a ton! Not a single mishap of any sort in a few thousand rds. She's had lighter guns, slimmer guns etc, but she always goes back to the Bersa.

Its an "ok" gun

I had a 40 uc

It was a bit fat for CCW IWB

There are many usa made choices that are as good or better

Bersa pistols are great there modeled after the walther p-88 so there very solid guns

A Bersa wouldn't be my first choice, but the fact that the Thunder 9 is a rather loose copy of the Walther P88 has to have some benefits... the Walther P88 is perhaps the single best 9mm pistol ever manufactured. It had a number of great features that made it truly superior to the best of the "wonder-nines" (Beretta 92, Sig P-series, CZ75, etc.).

It's a shame that is was so expensive and the military/LE contracts never came.
