Best .45 you've seened or used

Best 45 ever is the 1911.
Love the way it fits the hand and very accurate.
Next I like the XD and the HK. Other then the 1911 I shoot the XD better then anything else.

Prettiest was a Colt 1910 Commercial (aka "pantograph") in glorious Royal Blue.

Best "user" kind of a tie. Remington-rand with a nice set of bomar sights and non-extended ambi controls or my series 70 in electroless nickel--but I may be biased to the latter, having run 5-7K rounds through same.

I once saw'd me a 1911 w/ a 6" barrel in 45 super that easily shot one ragged hole at 25" all night long w/ some HOT ammo

Welcome to THR ;)

Any one of the several Colt 1911's I have owned over the years. They have all worked out of the box and I like the way they look.

I've owned several Colt 1911s (wish I still had them, too); now I have a Glock 21, a SA XD45, and a Taurus PT145. Best of those, IMHO, is the XD45. Best I've 'seened' is an STI 1911 custom, but never got to shoot it...

I was in a local shop today and saw a Springfield Armory 1911. It was a TGO 3 model. It was sure an easy gun to look at.

A Kimber Stainless Target in.....er....well.....38 Super.

I guess it has to be on of my ParaOrdinance......s.

The best 45 that I've seen/used has been the FNP-45. I've shot 1911's, but never really fell in love with them. I can shoot most accurately with my FNP-45 out of all of the handguns that I've fired. (Plus you can't beat 14 round magazines...) *my 2 cents*

STI Legend - what a beauty! I recently visited STI and got to see their entire line of pistols. The Legend is stunning. I wanted to call Brazos Custom and order one as soon as I left. Unfortunately, if I come home with another STI (I have 4) my wife might use it on me.

I have "other stuff" but...........

I really do love my P-14, but I wish it were not so shiny! I carry it everywhere. I even sleep with it. Sometimes I've carried another from my small collection, but always come back to my beloved Para. I protect it and it protects me.

I assume you mean the .45ACP?

I own a number of .45ACP's dating from WWI to the present (mostly 1911 style).

The one that points, shoots reliably, and is the most accurate is an out of the box no frills Kimber Pro-Carry II.

Ugly sure, but it works for me. Maybe I just got lucky with that one.

If I had to get rid of all the others the Kimber would stay.

I suppose the rest would go to a collector, and the others just don't fit my hand right with the exception of the XD .45ACP Compact.

That one still falls short to my Glock 19/23.

After all these years I am STILL in the search for the "best" non-1911 stlye .45ACP and have yet to find it.

I don't think I am alone in that search.

Anyone else?

Jim Clark Sr. 'Heavy Slide' Colt Gov't Model that belonged to a retired bullseye pistol shooter. After umpteen thousand rounds down the tube, it still shot knothole-size 10-shot groups - offhand (using one hand, like it was designed for)!

I have 2 of the best I've seened and I bought both used from the same person. I have a stainless SA 1911 with every upgrade available except tritium night sights. It has been polished with a strap to a mirror like finish. It functions as smoothly as it shines and is extremely accurate. The other is Glock 21 that fires with every pull of the trigger without exception. I aquired it after the previous owner had it explode at the range one day due to what we suspect was a double powder round. After careful inspection of the gun we found it to be undamaged. I had opportunity to aquire the gun from him some time later and in a fashion similar to TS Garp felt it had survived its brush with disaster and I would therefor not need to worry about this one small aspect of my life.
How's that for a story of the best .45 I've seened.

Toss up, Ed Brown Executive Target and Les Baer 1.5" PII.

Don't be put off by criticism of spelling, punctuation or word use. We all have our little idiosyncrasies.

Well , my favorite .45acp is my Jimmy Clark Sr. "PinMaster " --- back in the mid-80s , I used it to shoot my way into "A class" in IPSC and it has won a boatload of Bowling Pin Shoots for me --- after 20,000+ rounds , it is still very tight and accurate -- one hole groups at 25 yds.

But even thou I just LOVE the PinMaster , when I hear a bump in the night ---- I grap my ParaOrdnance Limited .45 -- hard to beat a 14 round .45auto !!!!!
