Best after market barrel for Glock?

I'm in the market for an aftermarket barrel for my Glock 30. I've heard that the Glock factory barrels state that you can't shoot lead bullets in the warranty.

Anyone know of any good barrels that are reasonable in price?

I got a stock length KKM in my Glock 20. I ain't the best shot with a handgun so I can't tell you how accurate it is, but it seems well made and accurate, has not adversly affected reliability, has better support for my brass, and conventional rifling so I could shoot lead, if so inclined. Bar Sto and Jarvis both make really good barrels, and I hear good stuff about Storm Lake as well, so I can't really say if KKM is the best. But it does what I need it to. I got mine for about $160 from Glockmeister.

I put a KKM barrel in my G22. It made a noticable difference in accuracy and completely eliminated bulging cases that I was experiencing with the stock barrel. I have shot several thousand rounds through the KKM barrel and have experienced no malfunctions. I highly recommend their products.

Interesting article comparing the KKM to the stock barrel:

For the price a Storm lake is a great barrel. I have one for my G20 with no complaints. Disregard i dont know if they make it for the G30.

    I had a KKM barrel for a G-20.
Exellent barrel, well worth the money.
The EDM process leaves the barrel exeptionaly smooth and easy to clean.

He didn't ask for the best deal, but rather the best barrel. That'd be Bar-Sto, fitted, of course. I don't believe I've ever heard a Glock barrel make any statements about lead or anything else. :) I also don't believe that you'll find a caveat about shooting lead in your Glock's manual.

    You asked:

I bought a Federal Arms .40 S&W barrel for my G29, strictly for range use with cheap .40 ammo. My expectations were low, but I have been surprised at its complete reliability in the gun and also its very good accuracy. These are very reasonably priced relative to other aftermarket barrels, and in light of its performance I'd rate it quite highly.

I'm a G-21 owner, and fitted the Bar-Sto to it. Not hard to do. A little patience in fitting the barrel.

I got a storm lake 357 sig barrel for my G27. it drops right in and is tight, no rattle or movement when it locks up. compared to the stock 40 barrel it takes half the time to clean it. the bore inside is much brighter then the stock finish which means less crap stays in the bore. for the price I think storm lake is hard to beat. and no fitting to screw up. as for accuracy the 357 sig is a super accurate round to begin with so I can't say if it is better then a stock 357 sig barrel. it is better then the stock 40 barrel, but thats apples to oranges.

but realisticly how accurate a barrel do you need in a G30? this isn't an IPSC race gun... its a compact self defense weapon...?!?!?! take the money you will save from the storm lake versus a bar-sto and buy more ammo to practice with.

check out topglock for prices on storm lake barrels.
