Best bang for your buck.

Best autoloader for your money for under 600$. Not necessarily the best gun but just the best value. Is it Glock? Springfield? CZ? Sig? Who?

i think you need to refine your criteria a bit more, offhand I'd say Taurus PT-92 series with many fine runners up like Makarov, Bersa, Springfield XDs and GIs.

Well basically I just want people to name what they think is the best deal on a gun, it dosnt have to be the best gun but what gun has the best price : performace. If thats too broad lets keep it under 500$ and think along the lines of a carry weapon.

You can always find a Sig Pro SP2022 for around $500. The older Sig Pro 2340 can be found for around $450. Chambered in .357sig, I think these are very underrated weapons. People scoff at a polymer frame Sig, but I think they're neat.

Picked up a G19 for $400 in like-new condition. Add a good holster, a couple boxes of carry ammo, 200+ rds of practice ammo, and you're still under $600.

It depends on what you want.
CZ, XD, Glock, Ruger, etc. All are good and can be classified as best bang for your buck, but we need to know what the criteria is.

One thing is for sure, though. 9mm ammo is super cheap if you don't reload.

The first Springfield I bought was a GI WWII Champion that I paid less than $400.00 fo from a dealer that had ordered it incorrectly. They wanted the full size and I happened to walk into the store as they were opening the box.

Then I bought my Taurus PT-145 for $325.00 at a gunshow in San Antonio Texas.

Both are exceptional guns at exceptional prices.

For me, best value is 'best price, best performance which feels right'. With that criteria it's all about Sig. CDNN has P226 LEO trade ins for $389, and that's a pistol which will last forever and a day.

I like Kimbers. Primarily the ones made before the series II safety problems, the small parts breaking, and the external extractors that worked some of the time.

Since the Kimbers I'm referring to can pretty much only be found on the used market, getting one for $600 or less shouldn't be too hard. I did it twice in the last year. Would have done it two more times if I had the money.

CZ, Glock, etc may be better for you, but I'm a 1911 guy. One that's spoiled by crisp, <4lb triggers...

Get the CZ PCR in 9mm. It's in the $400 - $450 range nib. A great value that
is reliable and a pleasure to handle. Check one out at a gunshop. Pick it up and you will see it feels like part of your hand and it is a natural pointer.

I second that. The PT145 is a great deal for the money. You can find them NEW for under $300 and it comes with 2 mags.
It will also fit in most leather designed for baby Glocks so a good holster is easy to find.

1) CPO SIG - Its a SIG for a Glock price. Why buy a Glock when you can get a SIG? ::stirring the pot::

2) SA XD - Great shooter, reliable, getting awesome reviews, only downside is the thin finish. Should cost more, but we're not complaining about current prices

3) CZ - The most underrated manufacturer currently IMO. Though prices are going up, they're still a pretty good deal

4) CDNN HP - For $399 its an awesome deal. No I'm not saying CDNN made the HP

1. CDNN BHPs. A classic gun at a nice price.

2. CZ-75s. A world class DA/SA with, I believe, the ability to be carried cocked and locked. Don't own one, they never really hooked me, but I recognize that it is a great gun and priced well.

3. Makarov. Explaining the difference between "cheap" and "economical" for 55 years.

If you're looking for a whole line, try CZ. They just keep making great guns at low prices.

S&W police trade-in autoloaders. My wife's 5903 was near mint and shoots great.....for only $350. Her 4566 is a really nice gun, also, complete with night sights....$389. If buying new, I'd recommend a Ruger P Series gun. I also think my RIA 1911A1 was a steal at only $300.......it all depends on what you are looking for, as to which route to go.......Oh yeah, love my Glock G26, also.....paid $375 NIB for it.

I'm a big fan of the SIG Pro.It's not just a good polymer pistol,it's a good 'un period.Brand new ones can be had for under $400-smoking deal IMO.

For under 500 smackers ... I'd have to go with the used (especially the "certified pre-owned") SIGs, particularly the 226 in 9mm or .40 or the 228 in 9mm.

For new autos under $500 ... in 9mm, CZ-75 tops my list (75C, PCR or PO1 for a compact), followed by Taurus PT-92.
