Best books (point shooting, combat shooting etc)

Id like a book that expains how to learn point shooting. Any suggestions on books?

Also any other books that I might find interesting to read about combat shooting, self desfense shooting etc.

I taught myself point shooting, then got some advanced training from a friendly outfit in Britain.

There are a couple of very important things about point shooting which will get you started. The first is to work on your grips and your grip-from-holster, to get the piece to point where you are looking every time you draw. The second is to practice shooting at the smallest target you can see. Focusing tightly on the exact spot you want to hit is imperative in point shooting. Think: which shirt button do you want to take out.

Jim Gregg's "The Gregg Method of Fire Control" is a pretty good treatise on his method. I have no connection with his company.

I'm not big on point shooting, but Andy Stanford's 'Surgical Speed Shooting' really improved my shooting, especially rapid follow up shots.

However, after practicing for a while, I attended a good pistol class. Having the fundementals down let me concentrate on the fine points, but the class really showed me how much difference direct instructon from a good instructor makes.

"Sixguns" by Elmer Keith and "Guns Bullets and Gunfights" by Jim Cirrillo are both good. I'd start with Keith tho.
