Very nice!
Very nice!
I like my Remington 7600 pump in 30-06 with 10 round mags, hdbiker
Remington 14 1/2 with a 16" barrel in .357.
I didn't know that they chambered one for 357.
Right.Let's not concede so quickly the taking of our guns.
To answer your question I have a Marlin lever in .45 Colt that will hold 10 rounds,
Before this thread gets closed I have to say this. I want a Fox/Savage double barrel 12 ga. I`ll call it the Joe Biden special.
Not trying to be political just funny or maybe a smart A.....
I would feel perfectly comfortable with my FR8 as a fighting rifle- assuming my opponents dont have automatics.I figure a .357 lever that's happy with .38 or a stripper-clip fed surplus carbine. If my Jungle-Carbine didn't use relatively rare .303 - it'd be a the top of the list but as it is, I have a very sweet FR-8 that takes 5 round clips of any ol' .308.
Todd.
I hope you're right jmr40. But I fear you are not. Both Biden & Harris seem to have a burr in their saddle on grabbing guns.
Your take is intelligent and very well reasoned. But I differ with you in your assessment of Biden, he has a developing problem with mental acuity, and Harris is a true believing ideolog.
Actually, the most traditional AR round has much less penetration in almost all loadings than traditional handgun loads. Some of the lighter weight, lightly constructed loadings (the inexpensive .223 American Eagle 50 gr HP is just one that comes to mind) don't penetrate deeply enough to meet suggested SD guidelines...As in protecting your property from the bad guys coming over the fence or in your house, an 'invader', burgler, etc..shorter distances with people in other rooms with walls that won't stop a 223/556?
I don't have a crystal ball, a new AWB 'might' happen...not sure the 'new' congress has the political will to do that. There are more than a few Dems would would not sign onto that.
BUT, I have a shotgun and magazine fed, bolt action 223/556 and a 17R handgun..for HD(for the zombies at the gate)...Lots of higher capacity and fairly quick to use, rifles out there. Like maybe a 9mm carbine.
BUT for instance number 2, I don't think any 'AR' type rifle would be the best choice. Bigger, lots of over penetration, VERY loud, particularly in a small room.
I have a couple of 'beseiged by the zombie hoards' longarms: an M1 Garand in 7.62 NATO and a Troy PAR, the latter being an AR15 with some clever alterations for pump action. I really hope these will stay recreational arms -- things would have to be pretty bad before I resorted to using them defensively in preference to a handgun.
